INVESTMENT FOCUS

CIC invests in companies focused on interactive, infrastructure and Internet technologies and applications. Within these broad and rapidly evolving categories, CIC focuses on several core areas, including:

  • Broadband infrastructure and communications (hardware, software and service providers)
  • Interactive applications, content and tools
  • E-commerce (B2C & B2B) tools
  • Home networking infrastructure and applications


INVESTMENT STRATEGY

CIC will consider investing in promising businesses at any stage of development, from seed through late stage. Although sometimes larger or smaller, initial investments typically range in size from $2 million to $10 million with appropriate follow-on financing in later private rounds. CIC can act as a lead investor when appropriate and often co-invests with other high-caliber venture capital funds or strategic investors. In evaluating potential investments, CIC looks for companies that meet the following criteria:

  • Strong and dedicated management team with a record of success
  • Clearly defined target market capable of supporting the business model
  • Sound business model
  • Well-crafted strategy for capitalizing on unique strengths
  • Momentum and partnerships

Each potential investment is evaluated, taking into consideration the extent to which CIC can add meaningful value.
